Ring in the New Year with Ann Plans on Dec. 30
December 19, 2010
The best New Year’s party in town returns to the Nokomis Community Center (2401 E. Minnehaha Pkwy. in Minneapolis) on Thursday, December 30. Plan to join us for this holiday tradition featuring three hours of free family fun. Bring your neighbors and friends – everyone is welcome!
This is Ann Plans’ third year planning the Night Before New Year’s Eve Party, and this is the event’s 11th year. Here’s what attendees have to look forward to:
- Hayrides pulled by beautiful Percheron horses, bonfire, and marshmallow roasting
- Carnival games with prizes for all young participants and everyone’s favorite fish pond filled with furry critters
- Strolling magician and fortunes told by Madame Tell as she consults her crystal ball
- KidsDance DJ spinning cool classics and hot new music with dance contests and prizes
- Live music performed by the Southwest High School jazz combo
- Family-friendly treats including hot dogs with all the fixings, Laura’s Famous Chili Dog Chili, 1919 keg root beer, and hot chocolate
- Posing with your family and friends in the old-fashioned photo booth – you’ll even receive two strips of your photos to take home
- Minneapolis’ first New Year’s countdown of the year complete with noisemakers and a visit from Father Time
The Nokomis East Neighborhood Association (NENA) and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board are the proud co-sponsors of this great community event. All activities are free, although donations are welcome and appreciated.
