February 26 Event Celebrates 2010 Minnesota Book Artist in Style

Wilber H. “Chip” Schilling, winner of the 2010 Book Artist Award, an annual award of the Minnesota Book Awards, was honored with a special event planned by Ann Plans on February 26 at the Open Book Literary Arts Center. More than 200 guests enjoyed this free event showcasing an exhibit of Schilling’s work and featuring wine, hors d’oeuvres, and live music by Sally’s Flag Empire. Schilling, winner of the third annual Minnesota Book Artist Award, is the owner of Indulgence Press specializing in hand-bound, letterpress printed fine press books, artist books, and limited edition fine art prints.
Schilling’s work remains on display at Open Book (1011 Washington Ave. S. in Minneapolis) through March 21, and will be installed at other venues statewide throughout the year. In addition to the recognition he received on February 26, Schilling will be honored and presented with his award at the April 17 Minnesota Book Awards Gala at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Saint Paul.
